The Big Bang

A jackpot needs to have a hard limit, as an unlimited growth would cause it to mathematically never be won. We will fix this issue by setting a hard-cap for the BB Jackpot.

If the BB Jackpot is not won by anyone, at the Big Bang threshold, a forced cash-out takes place. This cash-out is then used to buy back $JUNI for half of the Jackpot amount in one single transaction which we call The Big Bang.

The tokens bought back in said transaction will either be sent to the burn address or be used for staking or other things that will benefit holders of the token. The tokens are never used for payments of any form. The intention is never to sell the tokens.

The anticipation towards The Big Bang can lead to even greater FOMO, as the token price will increase strongly after The Big Bang takes place. At the same time, with a great transactional volume, investors will not be disheartened. The BB Jackpot is not easy to win, but there are multiple ways to earn money with JUNI and increase your investment’s value.

At launch, the Big Bang threshold was set to 100,000 USD. Therefore, the first ever Big Bang resulted in a buyback o 50,000 USD (see below picures and links)

The team has decided to reduce the Big Bang threshold step by step. With the current 100k USD threshold, we saw the Big Bang having too big of a spotlight inside the ecosystem and many investors thinking we depended on it happening. After having witnessed the protocol being live and active, we realized that a potential win of the Big Bang Jackpot could potentially harm the ecosystem as investors could be faced with disappointment over a "missed Big Bang". We want to make it absolutely clear, that the project has a lot more to offer and therefore re-balance the focal points of the Jackpot Universe.

The Jackpot was now decided to be set at 15,000 USD

This will likely result in smaller but also more frequent Big Bangs, reducing the sell pressure in both scenarios: The Big Bang happening or the Big Bang Jackpot to be won.

Here is the exact procedure with the example transactions of the first Big Bang (September, 17th):
